Green City, 2009.
This week while having a glorious, fun time with Janet Gregg, we learned about up and coming young artist Sally King Benedict. Sally used to work with Janet in Charleston. Here's a little bit about Sally, but please visit her website for the full story and lots of photos of her work. Sally Benedict's gallery in Atlanta is Gregg Irby Fine Art.
From her website:
"Sally King Benedict is an abstract artist whose work has quickly caught the eye of critics and collectors alike. Sally has been named An Emerging Artist On the Rise and One to Watch by New York's, Phillips de Pury's Art Expert website and was selected as the featured artist for the 2010 Spoleto Festival USA La Dolce Vita auction party. Sally's vibrant and sophisticated work has has been featured in various publications across the Southeast and already warranted solo shows in Charleston and Atlanta. (2008/2009).
Sally Benedict grew up in Atlanta, frequently traveling and attending art openings, exhibits, and design shows, seeking inspiration from the work of both past and contemporary artists. She completed her education at The College of Charleston in 2007. Sally has traveled extensively to South America and Europe where she honed her eye and trademark ability to create visual texture with a rich, adventurous color palette and expressive linear techniques."
