My mom is my best friend. She always has been.
I'm her oldest child and remember her telling me about how, when I was born, she sat in the hospital bed, crying, because she thought I was going to hate her one day when I was a teenager. She had no reason to worry. I have always looked to my mom for guidance, assurance, and love. Whether I am feeling overwhelmed about school, asking for advice about house hunting, or in need of a shopping buddy, she is always there. I love you mom...and hope I can be as wonderful a mother to my own children someday as you are to me.
